S45-RIT for fire at golf course, fire was a quick knock down by first in crews, it started in a maintenance shop and despite little smoke on arrival was quite a hot fire contained to a steel building.

Portage Indiana 2nd Alarm On Arrival Fire Box And Hazmat
Crews were dispatched to a reported structure fire in the Port Of Indiana late Friday night on 6-21-08. On arrival heavy smoke was seen pouring from a steel mill building. The North 1st and 2nd alarm box was requested immediately. Crews stayed with an exterior attack for most of the fire. A special call was made for Mittal Steel to respond with foam. A front end loader was used to gain access to the building. 3 trucks were set-up for master streams and several ground monitors were used to control the blaze. During the fire I had to run out and get batteries from some distance and it took about 20 minutes to get to the scene initially so you get an idea of how long the fire burned in the steel building. Investigations into how the fire started are ongoing.
